[Cocktail of the Week] Purple Rain

Happy Hump Day! It's time for the Cocktail of the Week and our drink of choice is Clique Vodka's 'Purple Rain', courtesy of Clique's amazing mixologist. With interesting looks and an even more interesting taste, there is no wonder this drink is our Cocktail of the Week. So, go get a bottle of Clique Vodka and shake it up!

INGREDIENTS

Clique Vodka

Rasberry Hibiscus Syrup

Whipped Cream (not light)

HOW TO MAKE

• Fill a cocktail tin all the way with ice and add 1 ½ oz Clique Vodka and 1 oz raspberry hibiscus syrup.* Shake very well, then add a small amount of regular (not light) whipped cream- just enough to bring a creamy texture to the cocktail. Shake again, and strain into a cocktail glass

• *Raspberry Hibiscus Syrup

  • 1 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 5 Raspberry hibiscus tea bags
  • Bring 1 ¼ cup of water to a boil, cut the heat and throw in 5 raspberry hibiscus tea bags (any brand). Let steep for about 10 minutes, then strain out the tea bags and squeeze and remaining liquid out of them. Add 1 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved, then let cool.

  EXPERT TIPS

  Only cream with a very high fat content won’t curdle from the acidity of the raspberry and hibiscus, so make sure you use whipped cream, or heavy whipping cream only.

[Cocktail of the Week] Square One Organic Watermelon Refresher

Everyone and everything is going green, but who knew vodka could too?! Here is a very summery cocktail that doubles as an ode to the organic lifestyle so many of us are transitioning into and living. 

 Square One Organic Watermelon Refresher 

 

 Ingredients:
2 oz. Square One Cucumber
1 oz. Organic Watermelon Juice
1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1/4 oz. Organic Agave Nectar
5 Sprigs Of Mint
Ice

Directions:
Remove leaves from all but one sprig of mint, reserving that sprig for garnish. Place mint leaves and agave nectar in a cocktail shaker and muddle for 15 seconds. Add ice, watermelon juice and lemon juice and shake for 15 seconds. Strain the liquid into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a mint leaf.

Happy Thursday everyone! It's almost Friday and we are feeling exactly how you're feeling. Perhaps we can solve our issues like Mad Men main character, Don Draper....and pretty much everyone else on the show....DRINK! Slacktory.com has compiled a video of every drink on the popular television series. Think you could keep up before? Think again.

[Cocktail of the Week] The Money Maker

We are back...a little late, but just in time for you to ask your favorite bartender to shake this up for you...if they can. We'd like to credit Charles Joly, Chief Mixologist at The Drawing Room for this recipe. 

Word is that the minty flavor in the tequila comes from a 3-day infusion process, but you can get by with a 6-7 hour infusion process, although the flavor won't be as strong.

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 3 minutes

Ingredients:

• 3 parts mint infused Hornitos® Plata Tequila
• 1/2 part quality raspberry liqueur
• 1/4 part Branca Menta
• 1 1/2 parts fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 part simple syrup
• 1 egg white
• Sprig of mint for garnish

Preparation:

1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass.
2. Dry shake, without ice, to combine.
3. Add ice, shake well and strain into an old fashioned glass over fresh ice.
4. Garnish with a mint sprig.
